Regional lift station
While in Council, I reviewed and approved the partnership between the Town of Fairview, City of Allen, and North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) to construct a regional lift station and force mains. Fairview's share of the lift station cost was capped at $2.6 million to be refunded to Allen over 5 years or upon Fairview's connection to the lift station. Allen funded the lift station and NTWMD funded the force mains and right of way acquisition.
Fairview Parkway
The parkway extension was funded by a $7.8 million grant from Collin County, $2.7 million from the Billingsley Company, and $1.7 million from Fairview taxpayers. Fairview's goal is to divert pass-through traffic from Highway 5 to Fairview Parkway, alleviating traffic for Fairview residents along Highway 5.
Fire Station #1 Rebuilt
I was a strong advocate for the voter approved bond for reconstruction of Fire Station #1 and approved reconstruction of the facility on Highway 5. The project was completed under budget and ahead of schedule.
Hart Road
As a council member, I worked with Town staff to address the need to widen Hart Road and improve its drainage system. This project was in the Capital Improvements Plan and was funded by Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) #1.
Fairview Crossing
Frisco Road needed to be realigned and extended to connect US Highway 75 to Highway 5. The roadway improvement was necessary to support development in the Commercial Planned Development District (CPDD). I fully supported and approved Town’s efforts to secure funding and right exchange with the City of McKinney to improve its alignment.
The project was funded with grants from Collin County, U.S. Economic Development Administration, and Fairview. It provides a long waited direct connection from U.S. Highway 75 to the residents in the north portion of Fairview.
While on Council, I met with residents of Fox Glenn subdivision several times and was a strong advocate of the improvements to remediate a severe drainage issue experienced by the residents for many years. I was also actively involved in mitigating drainage related issues at the Vinyards, Heritage Ranch, and Harper Landing.
Homeowners along Bluebird Lane voiced their concerns when the Wooded Creek Villas was initially proposed. I supported their request to eliminate direct roadway connection to Bluebird Lane while making sure there was suitable landscape buffer along the road.
Residents of Sloan Creek Estates preferred a pedestrian connection instead of a previously planned roadway connection to Chamberlain Place. I supported the trail connection prior to construction of Chamberlain Place which now provides pedestrian connectivity between the neighborhoods.
